What should an administrator expect to see and hear as he/she walks into a learner-centered classroom?

they should expect to NOT see all students sitting in desks taking notes and listening. Only 20 percent of what is heard is retained over a period of 10 days as opposed to 80 percent in an active hands on environment.
An administrator should witness students actively involved in the learning process. It may become loud and seem out of control, but if the students are discussing the subject matter and are "doing the work" - then the teacher has achieved what was desired - LEARNING!
